One of the major reasons why Hunter X Hunter is everyone’s favorite is because of the aura energy, amazing powers, and most importantly the Nen abilities. Hunter x Hunter never fails to amaze its viewers, with each Nen ability being more unique than the other.
Everyone living in the Hunter X Hunter universe has an ability called Nen.
This Nen power is based on one’s personality, creativity, and power. Like Killua’s and Gon’s Nen is based on their creativity whereas Hisoka’s Nen is based on personality.
What is Hunter X Hunter?
Hunter Hunter which is pronounced “hunter hunter” is a Yoshihiro Togashi manga series written and drawn.
Since March 1998, it has been serialized in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump, though the manga has frequently reached extended hiatuses since 2006. As of November 2022, its chapters had been collected in 37 tankbon volumes. The plot revolves around a young boy named Gon Freecss who discovers that his father abandoned him when he was young, is a world-renowned Hunter.
He is a licensed professional who specializes in unimaginable pursuits such as locating rare or unidentified animal species, treasure hunting, surveying unknown enclaves, or hunting down lawless individuals.
Gon sets out on a journey to become a Hunter and, ultimately, locate his father. Gon meets other Hunters and ventures the otherworldly along the way.
The Personality of Gon Freecss
Gon is an athletic, rustic, and pleasant young man on the lookout for adventure.
He is also not particularly good at math. He is, however, very good with animals, having spent a lot of time in the woods as a boy. Gon is an Enhancer, who is famed for their simplicity and determination. Because of his tenacity and talent, he has gained the trust and support of both potential allies and adversaries.
He has inhuman senses; Gon has a heightened sense of smell, almost like a dog’s, as well as excellent vision and taste. He intends to become a Hunter in order to discover the depths of a job that would compel a parent to choose the profession over being with his own son.
How does Nen work in HXH?
Nen is the energy or power that every living being in the HXH world possesses. Anyone can train and use this energy for achieving their purposes; however, it takes long and rigorous training to do so.
Not everyone learns to harness their Nen abilities without training, only the genius minds unlock their Nen without any training.
Characters can manifest their Nen abilities in a number of ways and these ways can be categorized into:

| Specialist | Because they behave differently from the other categories of Nen, Specialists are Nen’s wild cards. |
This is one of the best power plots in Anime. In this list I will list the best and most unique Nen abilities in the series:
Shaiapouf’s Nen
Even for a Chimera Ant, Shaiapouf possesses an incredibly potent Nen. Even strong combatants are forced to give up in face of Shaiapouf because it is so powerful.
He can split his body into an infinite number of miniature clones that he can completely control thanks to Beelzebub.
He can cocoon someone else and provide them new Nen powers by using the spell Cocoon. He can simultaneously study thousands of targets with Spiritual Messages and maintain hypnotic power over them.
Pouf takes this into account while making his complex ideas, which are often the result of idle thought. This may occasionally include changing his appearance to match that of another person, or it may entail dismantling himself to impart his strength and abilities to others.
Alluka’s wish-granting Nen
Killua might consider his baby sister the most innocent as she doesn’t use any Nen but she is possessed by something from the dark continent known as Nanika in the series.
In contrast to Nanika’s childish persona, its Nen is an apocalypse waiting to happen. Nanika is by far the most chaotic and powerful thing in the series, also the most unreliable one.
No matter how impossible the wish is, Nanika is capable of granting wishes. It can be anything from a pat on the head to getting the brain out of someone’s head.
This is a ridiculously strong yet volatile Nen ability. But in a matter of seconds, the situation can escalate from good to worse.
Netero’s 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva
100-type Guanyin Bodhisattva was one of Netero’s trump card Nen abilities that made the HXH fans hysterical during his showdown with Meruem.
This ability was a combo of Manipulation, Enhancement, and Conjuration through which Netero was able to create a giant Avatar of Buddha.
It used its hands to launch strikes at the speed of sound was very difficult to dodge the opponent. This slam technique exhausts the opponent and empties their endurance levels.
This Hatsu is a result of Netero’s extensive martial arts training throughout the course of his lifetime. Netero is virtually unstoppable when he mixes this power with his unrivaled quickness. He could move his hands at the speed of sound, the only one who could outrun Meruem throughout their combat.
Skill Hunter
Chrollo’s Hatsu is built on his specialized Nen ability, Skill Hunter. He is one of Hunter X Hunter’s best fighters because of this skill. His talent manifests in the Bandit’s Secret book.
Chrollo summons this talent while employing it, and he preserves Nen, which he steals in this book. Despite his Hatsu’s limitless potential, its stringent restrictions keep it from becoming too strong and invincible. But he is highly adept at getting around these restrictions.
Godspeed
Killua Zoldyck’s Nen ability is Godspeed, which comes in the form of lightning. Its first application is Whirlwind, a state where Killua’s body reacts to danger automatically.

Gon can turn his aggressive fighting style into a lethal weapon thanks to his Nen ability.
He can significantly increase the power of his assaults by concentrating his Nen in his arms, and these attacks typically come in the shapes of Rock, Paper, or Scissors. Gon’s greatest talent is rock.
He focuses his Nen around a fist, then strikes as hard as he can with it. When using Scissors, Gon focuses the Nen around his fingertips, substantially enhancing his cutting ability.
Lovely Ghostwriter
Neon Nostrade, the 17-year-old daughter of a flesh collector, serves as the cornerstone of her father’s reputation in the underworld. She needs a person’s name, blood type, and birthday to predict their future.
Her predictions always come true, but because her prophecies appear as poetry laced with metaphors and symbolism, it might be difficult to interpret them.
Although Nostrade’s Nen abilities are ineffective in battle, she could easily overthrow entire nations with Lovely Ghostwriter if she were to use it against her enemies.
Knov’s Nen
Knov’s Nen came out to be the most useful during the Chimera Ant extermination arc. With his Hide and seek Nen he can create portals on any surface that can lead to a dimension of his own.
These portals lead to a house or a building that is characterized as a four-story house with 21 different rooms of various proportions. He makes portals that each lead to a different room.
Crazy Slots
Kite, a character introduced early in Hunter X Hunter, is crucial to the show’s plot. Gon’s history makes reference to Kite; he was the one who told the boy about his father, which finally ignited Gon’s desire for revenge.
