Who Are The Classroom of the Elite Characters?

Classroom of Elite may sound like the old school high school drama but it has surprised fans with the execution.

This Anime is based on the light novel by writer Syougo Kinugasa and illustrator Shunsaku Tomose.

The classroom of the elite is set in the far-fetched future of Japan where there is a school for the elite class of the country which are meant to run Japan in some way.

The Anime centers on a group of exceptional students who are divided into classes A through D and must compete in various activities to ascend to the top.

Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School is a private school with sealed links to the outside world, as well as a points-based system that serves as the institution’s official currency.

They are earned each month by succeeding in tasks. It is effectively a game of one-upmanship and manipulation, and it is great.

The school has no regular students. The best students were placed in class A, while the less-than-perfect were placed in class D. Everyone was chosen for a reason.

The protagonists of the story Ayanakoji Kiyotaka and Horikita Suzune are the underdogs of this school and scheme different plans to save their classmates from problematic situations.

Although the psychological slice-of-life drama of Classroom of the Elite is not particularly original, it is worth your time because of the way the characters are developed.

Here is complete detail about these characters below.

What is the Classroom of Elite?

Classroom of the Elite is a Japanese light novel series written by Shgo Kinugasa and designed by Shunsaku Tomose that was published by Media Factory’s MF Bunko J imprint from May 2015 to September 2019.

In January 2020, the sequel light novel series “Classroom of the Elite: Year 2” was released. On January 27, 2016, Yuyu Ichino’s manga adaptation began publishing in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Alive. On December 25, 2021, a manga version of the sequel light novel series illustrated by Shia Sasane began publishing in the same magazine.

The first season of an anime television series adaption made by Lerche aired in 2017. A second season ran from July to September 2022, followed by a third season in 2023.

What is the White room in Classroom of Elite?

The White Room is a hidden establishment that was founded 20 years ago by Ayankouji’s father, who is better known as Professor Ayanokouji.

This school had one fundamental goal: to build the perfect education system, which entailed getting rid of unimportant elements that had no direct impact on education. The White Room has been in operation for around 20 years, educating kids to extremely high standards for approximately 20 generations.

Every generation is tutored by a different collection of teachers. Students from various generations will be tested after a specific period in the experiment-like educational system to determine the success of their training methods. Even if different generations of “White Roomers” shared the same facility, they should never see each other.

The White Room was designed in such a way that unimportant occasions such as parties and other pleasant events were never held there. Despite the amount of effort put into developing the White Room, it had little success in producing ideal students. The White Room’s main goal is to demonstrate that true genius is born as a result of external conditions, thereby dismissing natural-born geniuses like Arisu Sakanayagi.

Despite being an uncomfortable introvert who occasionally struggles to behave in public, Kiyotaka is a superb tactician!

Kiyotaka is the main character of the series Almost nothing is known about his life before the admission exam.

He is an awkward introvert who does not know how to function in public sometime but is also the master strategist!

Kiyotaka Ayanoki carefully considers his decisions. Being naturally organized, he loves to be ready and be able to anticipate any potential problems.

Despite being an average student, Kiyotaka is a gifted boy who has a deep understanding of how to analyze the emotions of others around him.

However, it is also revealed that he uses his understanding of human emotions merely as a tool to fulfill his hidden objectives which makes him a great manipulator and a sociopath.

He even forged the score on his entrance exam to enter Class D when he could’ve easily gone to Class A.

Suzune Horikita

Suzune revealed herself to be a snooty girl who was too full of herself to socialize with her friends.
Suzune revealed herself to be a snooty girl who was too full of herself to socialize with her friends.

Suzune came out as a snobby girl who was too self-important to interact with her peers.

As a matter of fact, she would prefer that the worst among them fail since she wants to move up to Class A and her present classmates won’t be able to do so.

But with time, she begins to realize that she can’t accomplish everything by herself and that she needs to watch out for her peers.

Class D is made up of the school’s troublemakers, all of them lack something, not always in terms of discipline and study techniques. Suzune’s constant presence in class D indicates a fault in herself that she is hesitant to admit.

Kikyō Kushida

Unlike Suzune and Kiyotaka who prefer to stay back in the crowd, Kushida wants to be the life of the crowd. She has a friendly, kind, and attractive outer persona and does not let down any chance to boast about it as well as her popularity.

She is a crowd seducer who would do anything to get her peers’ affection and friendship. She uses her nice and gentle ways to win everyone’s attention and heart space.

However, her gentle facade is blown away when she gets jealous of Suzune for getting attention from her classmates in class D.

This is where her narcissistic tendencies come to light in front of Kiyotaka. As seen by her habit to throw temper tantrums when she doesn’t receive what she really wants: influence and attention. She, therefore, despises everyone who even slightly opposes that objective.

She continuously swore at Suzune and loudly declared her hatred for her, which Kiyotaka Ayanokji accidentally overhears.

Yōsuke Hirata

Because of his friendly personality, the majority of the class acknowledges him as their spokesman.
Because of his friendly personality, the majority of the class acknowledges him as their spokesman.

Yosuke gives off a very mature and amiable feeling and is rarely seen becoming angry with others. The majority of the class recognizes him as their representative because of his kind demeanor.

He not only attracted the interest of numerous girls but also won the class’s trust. He is regarded as one of his class’s top students.

He belongs to the Soccer Club as well. He should have been in a class with higher grades like Class A given his stellar results, but for unexplained reasons, he was placed in Class D.

He has acceptable leadership and diplomatic skills, as seen by his ability to convince everyone to come to a decision after a brief disagreement about provisions and points by speaking his opinion during the survival test.

Airi Sakura

Airi is a former idol who hides her face behind her glasses so no one knows who she is. She has a timid and quiet temperament and prefers to remain in the background.

This was most evident when she couldn’t gather the confidence to admit that she saw Ken Sud’s scuffle with the C-Class students. She also struggles with basic socialization.

She liked Kiyotaka for his numerous motivational suggestions, which inspired her to achieve more than she would have done otherwise.

This may have intensified since she was moved when he promised to help her anytime she needed him and kept his word by rescuing her when a deranged stalker attempted to assault her.

Ken Sudo

Ken Sudo is a 2-D student and member of the Basketball Club. He is known as one of the three Idiots of D-Class because of his low academic performance.

Regardless, his athletic skill is undoubtedly among the greatest in the school.

He has a short fuse and becomes angry when people do things he considers meaningless or offensive to him.

Despite his apparent zeal for a brawl, he is shown to be easily intimidated when he is outmatched, as seen by his showdown with Kakeru Ryen.

Karuizawa Kei

Kei Karuizawa is a second-year Class D student and one of the heroines. Kei comes out as a careless and spoilt girl at the start of the series.

She is revered and feared across the class for her powerful personality and her status as Yosuke Hirata’s girlfriend after only two weeks of attending the school, securing her position as Class D’s female leader.

Despite her outward appearance and demeanor, she harbors secrets that she cannot afford to divulge to others.

Haruki Yamauchi

Haruki is used as a comic relief character in the Anime.

He is a foolish teenager who often thinks that girls will be attracted to him if he started behaving nicely. He is often seen doing questionable actions like peeping into the girls changing room.

Kanji Ike

Kanji is also a friend of Haruki and one of the three idiots of class D.

He is also involved in questionable acts like his friend Haruki but is less idiotic than him. Kanji also has romantic feelings for Kushida.

Honami Ichinose

Horikita Suzune refers to her as the lead character of class B since she is a class B student. She has been hailed as brilliant and charismatic.

She is a natural pacifist, frequently rebutting against any form of violence. She has a selfless, supportive demeanor that makes her highly popular in all classrooms. She is also said to be quite lovely, even by Kiyotaka.

She is one of the first people to befriend Kiyotaka, and she quickly becomes one of his most trusted friends.

Manabu Horikita

Manabu Horikita is Suzune Horikita’s older brother and a former Advanced Nurturing High School student. He was the Student Council President at first.

He values his position, as seen by his fear that his reputation would be harmed if it was found that Suzune Horikita was in D-Level, the lowest class.

He does not accept excuses since he did not trust or accept his sister’s explanation that her placement in D-class was not her fault.

He almost went so far as to attempt to assault Suzune, displaying his aggressive side, until Kiyotaka Ayanokji intervened.

Kakeru Ryen

Kakeru Ryen is the Class 1-C representative who is known for being a notorious delinquent, and he leads his class via terror rather than trust.

He has a gang of henchmen who conduct his dirty work, adding to his terrifying image.
