What is One Piece?

Eiichiro Oda is the creator and illustrator of the Japanese manga series One Piece. Since July 1997, it has been serialized in Shueisha’s shnen manga magazine Weekly Shnen Jump, with individual chapters bundled into 104 tankbon volumes as of November 2022.

Monkey D. Luffy, a youngster whose body got the qualities of rubber after mistakenly eating a Devil Fruit, is the protagonist of the novel. Luffy explores the Grand Line with his pirate crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, in pursuit of the late King of the Pirates, Gol D. Roger’s ultimate prize known as the “One Piece” in order to become the next King of the Pirates.

The manga inspired a media franchise, since it was turned into a festival film by Production I.G and an anime series by Toei Animation, which debuted in 1999. Toei has also created 14 animated feature films, one original video animation, and thirteen television specials. Numerous companies have created merchandising and media, such as a trading card game and multiple video games.

How long are One Piece movies?

Every One Piece movie has a different time duration. But all of them are 30 minutes and above this. If you talk about the movies alone then it can take you almost 22 hours to watch the movies completely.

Other than the 900+ episodes of the series, you can always add the One Piece movies to your marathon if you want to spice it up.

There have been 15 feature films dedicated to the Straw Hat Pirates to date. The length of each film ranges from 30 minutes to well over an hour. That means a marathon of the One Piece movies would take 22 hours to complete, showing how much there is to unpack with this shonen Anime.

Frankly, it could take a lot more than 20 hours if you watch the movies without disturbing your work schedules. For instance, it took me 2 days (Saturday and Sunday) to finish the movies with all the snack breaks bathroom breaks, and obviously nap times.

How long would it take to watch the One Piece Anime in 2022?

According to bingeclock.com, it can take you exactly 16 days, 18 hours, and 30 minutes. Roughly 17 days.

As of 2022, there are 1034 One Piece Anime episodes to watch, with the number expected to grow as the story progresses.

The creator of the One Piece saga, Eiichiro Oda, has apparently stated that the One Piece Anime will continue for at least another 4 to 5 years, while Luffy’s Anime voice actress has apparently stated that the One Piece series may continue for another 8 years.

How many days would it take to watch the One Piece Anime?

If a viewer were to watch One Piece up to its 1034th episode, they would need to spend 16.52 days watching the series. The total runtime is 379.13 hours or 16.52 days if the latter was used as the norm and multiplied by 927. Of course, if viewers didn’t sleep or take breaks while watching Anime.

Even if you plan to watch this series without interrupting your work routine on the weekdays it could take about 49.55 days to finish One Piece.

For this, you would have to watch the series every day except on weekends, which is a pretty tough task that requires lots of time and dedication.

After subtracting two and a half minutes from each episode for the intro/outro, there are approximately 1034 episodes total and they are 22,748 minutes long or 2 months of continuous watch time.

An ambitious goal that will require viewers to watch every night for about 15 days straight (in addition to other shows and activities).

The Manga is still ongoing which also means that many more episodes are on the way pushing the catch-up line further away as the week passes.

How many episodes of One Piece I can watch in a day?

One Piece Anime has 1021 episodes that last approximately 20 minutes (+-2 minutes) as of June 16, 2022. That’s a total of 20420 minutes, 340 hours, 14 days, and 18 hours of nonstop One Piece.

It is entirely dependent on you and the number of episodes you watch per day. As of this writing, there are 1034 episodes, with new episodes released every week, so the number will fluctuate.

However, each episode is just under 24 minutes long, so if you watched 10 episodes per day every day and did not change your pace, it would take 4 hours per day, and at 10 episodes per day, you could catch up in just over 3-3.5 months.

How long is the One Piece Anime without fillers?

Filler episodes are those in which the plot is unrelated to anything. These episodes are optional.

Although fillers are usually bad, One Piece has some really good filler episodes, such as the G8 arc (196-206), so you can watch them if you want, but if you skip them, you won’t miss anything in the main storyline.

Given the show’s run of more than two decades, that’s a lot of episodes.

The One Piece wiki listed all of the arcs as well as the number of episodes and volumes. The word ‘filler’ will be where the number of chapters and volumes should be if the arc is filler. Although the names of the arcs and what comes next will be revealed, this is not a spoiler.

Why should you watch One Piece?

A story about a rubber man leading a pirate crew may sound bizarre but it is one the greatest catalyst to the popularity of Anime worldwide.

Here is the reason why you should watch One Piece at least once in your lifetime.

One Piece can be a motivation for many
OnePpiece can be a motivation for many viewers because it gives a good message to not give up.

If you’re more interested in the story, it’s one of the best Anime. Oda takes great care in each chapter or episode to avoid making even minor errors that could lead to a plot hole.

Oda does everything for a reason, like how Shanks scared the Sea-king that bit off his hand, and why he was scared was explained a decade later.

One Piece is about exploration and adventures. The first amazing thing we’ll see is the red line, which was insanely large, followed by the Albasta kingdom, which will give us a taste of the Arabian Nights.

Skypiea is similar to heaven (though there isn’t much to see there). Water 7 is similar to Venice. Shabaody is similar to Disney Land, whereas the thriller Bark is similar to watching a Dracula movie.

Later in the series, you’ll get to see many fascinating destinations like Wano, Zou, and Dressrosa, which are a mix of Spain and Italy and gives you Roman vibes.

What I enjoy most about the series is the character development. Every character, both protagonist and antagonist, has a backstory.

Dofy is my favorite villain, and I love his story, wicked, pitiful, and bloodthirsty.

He’s like Batman’s Joker and how his aura was when straw hats finally confronted him. So are the protagonists; my favorite is, of course, Zoro, his story was also lovely, and I believe there will be more to it in Wano.

If you’re a casual Anime fan, One Piece may not be for you. It requires commitment, dedication, and a lot of time, but if you’re passionate about the series and you want to see what all the hype is about, it’s a good idea to start from the beginning.

As for me, I’m still waiting to find out how it ends!

Why is finding the dreaded One Piece so difficult?

Discovering the One Piece is not as simple as setting sail and discovering a coffin with treasure.

The One Piece world is made up of various groups and players who have lived in and conquered the grand line for far longer than the main character has.

D. Luffy must not just be able to collect, read, and comprehend what the Poneglyphs have to say. But he will have to play territory games, form alliances with the right kingdoms, obtain all the information that has been carefully guarded for centuries, challenge the authorities (call it the world government and the emperors), and network with those who are also attempting to overthrow the government.

Conclusion

  • While some other Anime may have better graphics or a more elaborate storyline, One Piece’s engaging plots and strong character development keep viewers coming back for more.
  • With over 1000 episodes, there’s going to be something to watch at any time of day or night. Whatever your preference, whether it be drama or comedy (or both), One Piece has got you covered.
  • One Piece may be long, but it is certainly worth investing the time to watch.
  • Once you get through the first several seasons, you’ll realize that the episodes fly by like a storm.
  • Although the chances of finishing the series at all are slim for any viewer. It’s a cultural juggernaut with no end in sight, and while there are some bumps along the way, it never fails to delight its fans.
