One of the most valued positions is that of the Hokage. As the nation’s administrator, it’s the responsibility of the Hokage to promote peace and prosperity.
The village had seven mighty Hokages, However, all of them were not equal. Some of them were better than others but the title of the weakest among them is a fight between the two of them.
Why was the Hokage created in the first place?
After the foundation of Konoha by Hashirama Senju, Hokage as an institutional position was established. A Hokages’ role is to look after the everyday issues of the village. This position was created to promote peace and prosperity in the village
The first of these Hokages was Hashirama himself, He was chosen by the people of the village. However, the decision was met with skepticism by Madara, another important figure, who feared that this selection of Hashirama would result in his clan’s superiority over the others.
Who were the Seven Hokages?
These were the seven Hokages:
- Hashirama Senju
- Tobirama Senju
- Hiruzen Sarutobi
- Minato Namikaze

- Naruto Uzumaki
1. Hashirama Senju
Hashirama Senju belonged to the Senju clan. For of his unparalleled ninja skills, he was regarded as the “God of Shinobi.”
Hashirama formed Konohagakure alongside his clan, Madara Uchiha, the Uchiha clan, of his nemesis and boyhood friend to bring about the shinobi world’s peace. Later on, he rose to become Konohagakure’s first Hokage.
The village and the whole shinobi world would continue to be shaped by his legacy and worldview long after his passing, even though he was unable to achieve harmony during his lifetime.
2. Tobirama Senju
Tobirama Senju was a member of the prestigious Senju clan, which built the first shinobi village, Konohagakure, with the Uchiha clan.
Tobirama worked relentlessly throughout his life to secure political stability and to put in place the institutions that made the village system work, assuring the villages’ continuity and prosperity. Following his brother’s death, he was raised to the second Hokage.
3. Hiruzen Sarutobi
Hiruzen Sarutobi was Konohagakure’s third Hokage. Hiruzen, a disciple of the village’s two former Hokage, was a formidable ninja revered as a “God of Shinobi.”
Though he was only ever the Sannin’s direct teacher, generations of Konoha shinobi profited from his knowledge during his lifetime.
4. Minato Namikaze
Minato Namikaze was Konohagakure’s fourth Hokage. He was famous across the world as Konoha’s Yellow Flash.
He perished during the attack of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, dedicating his life to sealing a piece of the Nine-Tails into his newborn son, Naruto Uzumaki.
Tsunade was a member of the Senju clan, however, she had ancestry from the Uzumaki clan as well.
Tsunade was a devoted medical-nin, who helped many people through her healing capabilities. However, due to the tragic death of her loved ones she abounded her life as a shinobi. Nevertheless, she was eventually convinced to return to the village and take on the role of the fifth Hokage.

Hokages’ Strengths and Weaknesses
Here’s a data table compiling the seven Hokages’ strengths and weaknesses:
|Hashirama Senju||Political||Too Naive|
|Tobirama Senju||Passionate Leader||Cruel|
|Tsunade Senju||Medical Abilities||Unprepared|
Who is the weakest of them after all?
Analyzing all the Hokage and their strengths along with their weaknesses, Kakashi Hatake and Tsunade Senju are Konohagakure’s weakest Hokage. In Naruto, Kakashi and Tsunade are quite similar in terms of power.
Their combat styles, however, are vastly different. While Tsunade is more of a juggernaut, Kakashi depends more on tactics in battle and is relatively calm and calculated while also not lacking in power. Both Kakashi Hatake and Tsunade Senju are undeniably strong Kage.
After losing his Sharingan, Kakashi became even stronger as a Kage, as seen in the Naruto light novels. Kakashi could battle for longer and use his chakra more effectively without the eye depleting his supplies. Furthermore, to become a more versatile combatant, he devised various devastating tactics including the Purple Electricity.
Tsunade Senju, on the other hand, became Hokage when she was fairly elderly and had passed her true potential. This was proved numerous times when her actual look became apparent after she used the mitotic regeneration Jutsu.
Tsunade also suffered in many battles, like as the one against Madara Uchiha, and against Pain, she wasn’t able to engage in combat or prevent him from blowing up the village although saving many lives.
Is Kakashi frail?
Despite the loss of Sharingan, Kakashi is quite powerful.
He is far from weak and can hold his own against strong opponents. Kakashi has mastered all of his ninjutsu, taijutsu, and shuriken jutsu. It’s no surprise that he became the Sixth Hokage following the Fourth Great Ninja War.
He’s built a name for himself, and many shinobi in nearby villages dread him. Despite losing his Sharingan in the Fourth Great Ninja War, he is still known as the Copy Ninja because he could replicate over a thousand jutsus simply by observing his opponents do them.
Which Hokage was the most popular?
Tsunade was the most popular Hokage.
After Sarutobi died, Tsunade was persuaded to become Hokage. She has a lot going for her to be the most likable Hokage of them all. She is an important figure with an interesting past as a member of the legendary Sannin.
She also became Hokage amid some of Konoha’s most trying periods, dealing with the fourth great ninja war and the Akatsuki. She became a powerful leading figure for the series’ major characters and swiftly won over viewers. After Jiraiya died, she received even more pity for losing such a close friend.
