If you’re someone who’s interested to know more about Anime from this genre, then you’ve come to the right place.
In this article, I’ll discuss a few of the most popular gore Anime shows that one needs to watch if they’re a huge horror fan.
Before we dive in any deeper, here’s a list of Anime for people into gore and horror:
- Attack on Titan
- Darwin’s Game
- Tokyo Ghoul
- Another
- Corpse Party: Tortured Souls
So let’s get right to it!
Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan is a Japanese dark fantasy Anime series. The series was adapted from the Manga by the same name written by Hajime Isayama.
The storyline of the series begins with humans facing extinction due to cannibalistic giant monsters, who are called the Titans.
A few groups of people come forward in order to defend humanity and kill all these Titans. However, during the process, they realize the terrifying reality of the Titans and their bravery ends very quickly.
This series is actually amazing for those who love gore and horror. This is because it portrays every graphic image, from flying limbs to blood splattering, and even the regurgitation of human carcasses.
Attack on Titan definitely doesn’t hold back when it comes to making the scenes gruesome and horrifying!
It has also been reported that their latest season has ramped up the brutality. The Titans versus human violence were disturbing enough, but this time they’ve also added human-on-human violence which is often crueler.

Darwin’s Game
Darwin’s Game is a Japanese Anime created by FLIPFLOPs, a comic book creator. The series only has one season and is yet to be revived for another.
The story revolves around the life of a high school student, named Kaname Sudo, who joins an online game after his friend passed away.
It’s known as the battle royal gacha game. In this game, the players have to fight for their actual lives by using superhuman powers. These superhuman abilities are known as sigils.
Basically, the game works through a PVP system where the players use powers and obtain items. These items are then used to kill each other which helps them gain points and move forward in the game. This technically means that by killing others, they get to level up in the game.
Although Kaname had a rough start, he quickly gets the hang of the game and also gets good at fighting for his life. Now imagine the kind of bloodshed that the series would offer you as it’s all about killing other humans.
Tokyo Ghoul
Tokyo Ghoul is a Japanese Anime series that was adapted from the Manga of the same name and written by Sui Ishida. The series is a perfect combination of horror, drama, action, and dark fantasy.
The series revolves around a shy college student, named Ken Kaneki. Ken’s life takes a huge 180-degree turn when he goes on a date with a girl who turns him into a ghoul.
A ghoul is a carnivorous creature that only feeds on humans or other ghouls. The setting of the series is a world where ghouls live among humans and are the same as any regular people almost every day. Their only secret is that they crave human flesh.
After his date with Rize, Ken then becomes the first half-human and half-ghoul hybrid. This draws him deep into the violent and dark world that exists.
Ken Kaneki now must hide his identity in order to live a normal and peaceful life. Not only is the story of the series incredible and gripping, but it also has stunning visuals.
Tokyo Ghoul features carnivores eating and fighting each other. Therefore, this leads to a lot of blood spatters and disturbing images.
The series also consists of some incredibly intense physical and psychological torture. However, this is also what makes it 10 times better than a series with just bloodshed and physical fights.

Another
Another is a horror, drama, and thriller Anime series which will leave the fans in amazement. The series has an amazingly mind-bending and mysterious storyline.
The Anime series follows a young boy known as Kouichi, who goes back to school after a long leave. There has been a number of gruesome and strange deaths at his school.
Kouichi becomes friends with a girl from the hospital, named Mei. Both Kouichi Sakakibara and Mei Misaki are set on a mission to figure out what’s going on. They want to investigate these deaths and get to the bottom of the mystery.
However, the truth may be too much for them to handle because the path that they walk down leads them to nothing but unimaginable horror.
Although it isn’t as popular as other series on the list, Another is an incredible Anime for people who love to watch intense horror and thriller. It’ll definitely give them an adrenaline rush!
Corpse Party: Tortured Souls
I think that it has been established that series like Corpse Party aren’t for those with a faint heart. Unless you’re a big fan of mystery, horror, and eye gouging, you shouldn’t be watching Corpse Party: Tortured Souls.
Not only does the series disturbingly kill children on screen, but it also pushes the boundaries even more by including psychological torture.
This series begins with a group of nine students and their teacher staying back at school after dark. They all perform a ritual for good luck, however, it transports them into an alternate dimension.
This alternate world is filled with vengeful ghosts of the past who were murdered in this location. The group has to work together in order to escape these evil and bloodthirsty spirits.
However, as these children try to survive, many of them encounter brutal ends. They’re torn apart and this is where the psychological torture begins.
